Special Storytime and Book Give-a-Way

On Saturday, September 10th at 11:00 the Buena Park Library will present a Special Storytime. Every child that attends will receive a free new or gently used book upon leaving. This Special Storytime is the Leadership Eagle Scout Project of Kyler Walker and Troop 1400, an event Kyler has named, "Project Literature." Kyler feels, "It is essential that children develop a fond interest in reading while in their early childhood."
No registration is required for this free program and everyone is invited to join Kyler and Miss Mary for stories, a craft and lots of laughs.

Lord Rusty to Perform on June 30th

On Thursday, June 30th at 6:00 Christopher Yates will perform at the Buena Park Library as Lord Rusty. Christopher has performed on five continents for clients as diverse as the President of Venezuela, the BBC Studios and the San Francisco 49ers football team. Lord Rusty has recently returned from performing at the Sydney Opera House in Australia to perform at the Buena Park Library.
So, gather your young lords and ladies, princes and princesses to be entertained with Lord Rusty's unique, entertaining and interactive program which features comic juggling, songs, magic and audience involvement. All children and their grown-ups are invited to this free show, but come early; seating is limited to the first 250 people.

Three special Programs to Celebrate
The Day of the Child / The Day of the Book



Special Storytime and Craft at 11:00


Each child who attends this Storytime will receive a gently used children's book.



Bilingual performance by Georgette Baker at 2:30


Ms. Baker will entertain children and their grown-ups with music, songs, and stories.


Tween (ages 9-12) Book Discussion at 3:30


Tweens and their grown-ups are invited to share their thoughts on the book Esperanza Rising. After the book discussion we shall have a snack of tortillas, beans, and lemonade.

This special day of Dia de los ninos/Dia de los libros programs is sponsored by the Orange County Chapter of REFORMA and Volunteer Guild of the Buena Park Library District.

Free Puppet Workshop for Children

To celebrate the 13th Annual National Day of Puppetry, the Orange County Puppetry Guild will present a free puppet making workshop for children.


On Saturday, April 23rd at 1:00, children are invited to learn how to make a butterfly puppet and a horse marionette.


This free workshop will be limited to 40 children.
